Cherry Bedside Table

Build a timeless cherry wood bedside table that beautifully complements our Cherry Heirloom Bed. Designed with traditional craftsmanship in mind, this project features solid cherry construction and classic joinery techniques, including mortise and tenon joints and tongue-and-groove paneling.

Like the heirloom bed, the table is built around four solid wood corner posts that anchor the structure with strength and style. The sides and back showcase tongue-and-groove slatted panels, offering both durability and a classic craftsman aesthetic. Details such as wide chamfers along each leg, subtle tapers near the feet, and a gently curved front apron give the table a refined, elegant presence.

Though it makes an excellent companion to the bed, this cherry bedside table also stands strong as an independent project. It presents several rewarding woodworking challenges, from accounting for seasonal wood movement to executing precise joinery techniques. Every piece of the table—except the drawer bottom—is made from solid cherry, requiring thoughtful planning and attention to wood expansion and contraction.
